With an abundance of experience, our expert team of hairdressers are able to provide the absolute best in hair care. From cuts and styles to colours and treatments, our team are dedicated to helping you look and feel amazing.
Our salon is located in a great loft-style premise above Leuven the Belguim Bar, on the corner of Featherston Street & Johnston Street.
Buses stop outside Kircaldie and Stains on Lambton Quay less than a minutes walk away and we’re only a 5 minute walk from the train station.

I’ve been a hairstylist for over 30 years and running a salon for almost 20. I see hairdressing as an art form and a science. Sculpturing shape into your hair and developing the perfect colour to accentuate your style.
I re-launched the salon under the name Black Pearl & co due to a vision I had about creating a space to bring together a collective of talented people, sharing their skills and knowledge, and designing the best looks in Wellington. As a centre for excellence, our salon is frequently host to some of the very best training in the industry. This, combined with using only the very best products in your hair means every day can be a great hair day.

Hi, I’m Juanita! I’ve been in the hairdressing industry for over 15 years now and originally hail from Sydney, Australia.
I’ve worked for many years on Mercedes Fashion Week in Australia, creating a number of different look for the catwalk, from “Showgirl” to “Steampunk”. I’ve also presented on set for the TV Show X-Factor.
I have a flair for big bouncy blow-dries and am particularly passionate about colour work with natural balayage and soft blondes. No matter what you’re after, I can help you choose a style tailored to you!
